How the schools work together

What is this section about?
The schools in the Macclesfield area have been used to working well together for many years now.
Every year, there are a number of events, in which all local schools are invited to participate.
This section highlights some of these and also has links to school web sites, where these exist.

Sporting Events

Schools Indoor Athletics

Each summer, teams from all the THS Feeder Primary Schools meet in the Sports Hall at THS for a packed programme of indoor track and 'field' events. It is always a fiercely competitive occasion and very noisy, thanks to the terrific support from parents, friends and other spectators.

Primary Language Festival
Each year, pupils from all the feeder schools are invited to take part in a morning of activities, ranging from cooking crepe’s to learning Japanese in order to find out more about other countries and cultures.

Science Events
During National Science Week, pupils from all primaries are invited to two specialist science events. CSI Forensics – pupils must investigate the crime scene to solve a murder and in the ‘LOST’ G & T Science Day, pupils must complete a series of challenges in order to get rescued from the island.

Science Gases Lessons
Over the last four years over 1000 children have taken part in science lessons with David Whalley investigating the effects of Gases. These workshops are held each year for all Year 6 pupils in our partner primaries.

T.L.C Primary Council
Pupils from our partner primaries come together every year to work on projects to improve the communication between the primaries and secondary’s and give primary children the opportunity to let us know what they want from their new secondary school.
